EDITING and LEADERSHIP and ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Editing is more than catching grammatical errors. It's learning to be a leader, learning how to build professional relationships, and learning how to foster growth in your writers.

WRITING and NEWS GATHERING

Throughout my journalism experience, I've learned more than just the basics of reporting. I've learned lessons about myself, about my community, and about the world around me. Writing articles isn't an adventure I would ever give up.

MULTIMEDIA BROADCAST

Although I struggled with learning the format and technique of video reporting in the beginning, I've grown to really enjoy this format of journalism. Nothing can replace the human emotion on a face, captured with a camera. Learning how to capture this passion has taught me the strength in perseverance.

DESIGN and PHOTOJOURNALISM

I never would have imagined that I would enjoy design. Journalism had always been about writing and research for me. However, creating  visually palatable information to present to readers is an important part of magazine creation and ended up being super fun!

NEWS LITERACY and LAW AND ETHICS

What people don't realize about high school journalism is the amount of effort and hard work that goes into keeping the program satisfactory. Students not only have to write articles, but they learn about the moral quandaries that professional journalists also deal with.

WEB & MARKETING

In order to improve engagement and outreach, I've created social media accounts to share my articles and projects with the local community.
